A day that will be
recorded in the history of your life! This is the one of the most important days of your
life. The day that you’ve been dreaming about since you were just a little girl! This
is a day all about you! You will want to look and feel your absolute best. Remember,
cameras will be clicking! Photographs and videos will be plentiful. You’re the star
of the day!
That’s why we
are here. We are here to take away some of the worry and stress that comes with planning a
wedding. To help you relax and enjoy YOUR day. To help you look like a more Beautiful You!
This is a day to leave up to the professionals.
After many years in
the beauty business and as many brides we’ve encountered, we have learned many things
to alleviate stress for both the bride as well the stylists. Here are some tips and ideas
that we, at Beautiful You Designs have been found to be very helpful.
Take care of
yourself. Make sure that you are eating right, drinking plenty of water and getting enough
sleep. It’s amazing how these three basic things will affect your mood!
Prepare your skin
before the wedding. Find a good skin care regimen. Keep your skin clean, soft and
hydrated. In doing so, it will give your makeup artist a great canvas to work with. Get a
facial a week or two before the big day. Don’t have one any closer than that in case
there is any redness or breakouts.
If you are tanning,
don’t over do it… all you want is a glow.
Even if you
don’t normally wear makeup, give it a try! When make up is applied properly, it
enhances your natural beauty. Find a makeup artist who listens to you. Try a few different
looks so that you are comfort with the makeup as well as the artist.
Having a professional
hair stylist come to you is not only a convenience, it is relaxing!
Make sure your stylist is proficient in bridal and up styling.
Don’t be afraid to ask for references and a portfolio. This applies to a makeup
artist also. Once you find the stylist and makeup artist you are comfortable with, make
sure you book them as soon as possible. Good stylists/makeup artists are hard to come by.
Remember, they may not have the day and time of your wedding available.
Don’t have
"Aunt Sally" do your hair and makeup! As good as she claims to be… just say
NO! The last thing you want is running mascara and bobby pins popping out all over the
place! Leave it up to the professionals. Peace of mind is priceless!
Find a quiet, out of
the way place to have you hair and makeup done. Somewhere where there are no distractions.
Remember, this a time when brides tend to become very tense. The last thing you want is
chaos and bedlam. If you need a support system, have a calm, well loved person with
you… your maid of honor, or perhaps your mother. AND by all means, turn off your cell
phone.
Tips for Your
Consultation/ Trial Do
*Schedule your consultation/trial no more than eight to ten
weeks prior to your wedding date.
*Wear little or no makeup.
*Have dry hair and wear a white button down shirt.
*Bring pictures of hair styles and /or makeup looks that you
find appealing.
*Bring your veil, headpiece, any other jewels, decorations
or flowers that you will be using in your hair.
*Bring someone special with you. This is optional but
sometimes it is better to have two heads instead of one.
*Bring your wedding jewelry and most important, your camera.
Beautiful
You Designs records all that was done at your consultation/trial. Hair and makeup is done
in front of a mirror. We make detailed notes and take digital pictures. Listening and good
communication is of the utmost importance. Make sure that you are completely satisfied
with your look before the wedding day. It is easier to change something before hand than
on the day of the wedding. Beautiful You Designs will do extra trials for an additional
fee. We will take every measure to make sure you are completely satisfied. Your happiness
is our main concern.
Wedding Day Preparation
*Face should be clean. Follow the instructions that your
makeup artist recommended at the consultation/trial.
*Hair should be clean, completely dried before styling
unless instructed by your stylist.
*Wear a button down shirt or a robe that closes in front.
*Have your headpiece, veil and any hair ornaments close at
hand.
*Have decorative bobby pins, clips, jewels, flowers, etc.
for your wedding party.
Most of all enjoy
yourself! Relax. Have a good time! Beautiful You Designs will take care of your every hair
